Who is Maii?
A writer tracing anxiety, identity, survival, and the fragile architecture of becoming.
Maii Michaella Miatti Fallara is a Montréal writer, essayist, author, and multidisciplinary artist writing from lived experience.
Her work moves through mental health, Black trans womanhood, family, desire, survival, and thoughts we hide.

I write because silence can make our strangest feelings feel private. Words remind us someone else has been here too.
I spent years learning how to be understandable, useful, and easy to hold. Writing became the place where I stopped shrinking and began naming anxiety, shame, love, grief, gender, and survival.
My debut book, I Wanted to Die, But My Mom Called!, began this archive of becoming. Words by Maii is where I continue it.
